Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a hospital-wide float pool position requiring 3 years of experience in ER, ICU, PCU, Med Surg, and Behavioral Health.
Responsibilities
- Float pool role within the hospital-wide Nursing Resource Team
- Care provided across ER, ICU, PCU, Med Surg, and Behavioral Health (adult acute, youth acute, addiction recovery) units
- Patient ratios include ICU 1:1-2, Med/Surg 1:5-6, PCU 1:3-4, Behavioral Health 1:5-6 days or 1:10 overnights
- 21-35 beds per unit, depending on assignment
- 12-hour shifts from 0700-1930 or 1900-0730
- Required to work every other weekend
- Unit assignments communicated 2 hours prior to each shift; may float mid-shift as needed
- Use of KBH/YA Restraint board and lifts as part of patient care
- Responsibilities include evaluating, planning, implementing, and documenting nursing care across multiple departments
- Assists physicians with exams and procedures and administers medications within scope of practice
- Promotes patient independence by setting care goals and providing patient and family education
- Completes training in Restraint-C, MOAB, boundaries, and equipment as part of onboarding
- Must wear navy blue scrubs
- No local candidates are accepted; must reside 50 miles or more from the facility
Requirements
- Active ID or compact RN license
- Graduate of a nationally accredited nursing program; BSN highly preferred
- Minimum of 3 years' experience in each of the following areas: ER, ICU, PCU, Med Surg, and Behavioral Health (adult acute, youth acute, addiction recovery)
- Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
- Experience with cardiac drips and non-invasive ventilation required
- Department of Health & Welfare background fingerprinting required
