Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced Operating Room RN with a current MA license and BLS certification for a 13-week hospital assignment with rotating shifts.
Responsibilities
- Work in a busy hospital Operating Room with 17 ORs
- Surgical services include general, gyn, GU, oral, otolaryngology, bariatrics, ortho, neuro, vascular, thoracic, cardiac, plastics, podiatry, robotics, pediatrics, trauma, and spine
- Position requires competency in at least 5 specified service lines
- Patients are served in a Level 1 Trauma setting
- Day/night rotation with 12-hour shifts, starting at 7am or 7pm
- Every third weekend coverage as needed and every other holiday required
- One call shift per schedule period
- May float to another OR as needed
- Responsibilities include circulating and potentially scrubbing for a variety of surgical procedures
- The OR is operational 24/7 with a collaborative surgical team environment
- Required to wear hospital-approved scrubs
- Orientation and ongoing support provided by department staff
- Monthly parking fees apply for onsite parking
- Local candidates are accepted at the same rate as travelers
- Coverage required for alternate holidays and every third weekend
- Candidates may be required to float between surgical departments as operationally needed
Requirements
- Active MA RN license required at time of consideration
- Current BLS certification required
- Minimum 2 years of inpatient Operating Room experience required
- Prior Level 1 Trauma hospital experience strongly preferred
- Scrub experience preferred
- Must be competent in at least 5 of the listed surgical specialties
- Demonstrated excellent communication skills and a positive, flexible attitude
- Must provide two references, at least one from a manager, with recent performance evaluations
- Candidates must pass an advanced dysrhythmia test as part of onboarding
