Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Stepdown Telemetry position caring for cardiac and surgical patients, requiring KY or compact RN license and advanced dysrhythmia competency.

Responsibilities

Work in a hospital Stepdown unit specializing in surgical and cath lab patient populations
Night shift schedule: 3x12 hours, 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
Patient ratios are 4:1 on days and 4-5:1 on nights
Patient care involves cardiac drips, sheath/radial band management, and chest tubes
Local candidates within 75 miles are eligible but subject to a different bill rate
Care for post-surgical and post-cath lab cardiac patients
Familiarity with cardiac medications such as Amiodarone, NTG, and Cardizem required
No previous permanent employment with Baptist Health Louisville permitted
Two professional references must be provided for consideration

Requirements

Active KY or compact RN license
Minimum of 2 years Stepdown or similar telemetry experience
Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
Must pass an advanced dysrhythmia (EKG) competency assessment
Experience with chest tubes, epicardial wires, and cardiac drip medications required
NIH Stroke Scale certification is preferred
