Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Stepdown Telemetry position caring for cardiac and surgical patients, requiring KY or compact RN license and advanced dysrhythmia competency.
Responsibilities
- Work in a hospital Stepdown unit specializing in surgical and cath lab patient populations
- Night shift schedule: 3x12 hours, 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
- Patient ratios are 4:1 on days and 4-5:1 on nights
- Patient care involves cardiac drips, sheath/radial band management, and chest tubes
- Local candidates within 75 miles are eligible but subject to a different bill rate
- Care for post-surgical and post-cath lab cardiac patients
- Familiarity with cardiac medications such as Amiodarone, NTG, and Cardizem required
- No previous permanent employment with Baptist Health Louisville permitted
- Two professional references must be provided for consideration
Requirements
- Active KY or compact RN license
- Minimum of 2 years Stepdown or similar telemetry experience
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
- Must pass an advanced dysrhythmia (EKG) competency assessment
- Experience with chest tubes, epicardial wires, and cardiac drip medications required
- NIH Stroke Scale certification is preferred
