Description

Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a skilled nursing and rehab unit position in a long-term care facility, requiring an active IL RN license and strong Med/Surg skills.

Responsibilities

Work in skilled nursing and rehabilitation units within a long-term care setting
Direct patient care for up to 20 residents per nurse, with an average daily census of 72
Night shift, three 12-hour shifts per week, 18:30-07:00
Every other weekend rotation is required
Provides care for dementia and surgical patients, including IV medications and wound care
Uses lifting equipment for patient handling
Charting is currently on Powerchart and transitioning to Matrix EMR
Provide specialized medical and rehabilitation care to dementia and surgical patients
Works closely with CNAs and HCAs in a team environment
First-time travelers are welcome to apply
No on-call responsibilities
Free parking available on site
Scrubs must be any shade of blue
No more than 7 days of RTO per 13-week contract; RTO not permitted during orientation week; holiday time off is limited
Permanent employees must wait one year before returning as a traveler
Travelers may stay up to 18 months with a required 3-month break after the term

Requirements

Active IL RN license required at the time of consideration
Minimum of 2 years RN experience in a similar setting
Current IV certification, BLS, and ACLS required before starting
Experience with Med/Surg and acute care recommended
Dementia training or experience highly recommended
Ability to provide excellent customer service
Must reside outside a 75-mile radius from the facility
