Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced Pediatric Oncology RN with recent pediatric and hem/onc experience, holding an active IA or compact RN license.
Responsibilities
- Work in a hospital pediatric hematology/oncology unit with 14 beds
- Cares for pediatric hematology/oncology, med-surg, and a range of pediatric specialties
- Patient ratios range from 1:2 to 1:4
- Night shift position, 7:00pm–7:00am, 36 hours per week
- Every third weekend and holiday rotation required
- May float to the Emergency Department for inpatient holds or to the NICU, general pediatric floor, and PICU
- No on-call requirements
- Uses Epic EMR; documented recent Epic experience required
- Primary responsibilities include providing specialized care to pediatric hematology/oncology patients
- Orientation consists of 16 hours; scheduled class starts are available
- Must be willing to float across pediatric units as needed
- Travelers required to work every third weekend and participate in holiday rotation
- Candidates within 50 miles may be subject to alternative compensation
- Professional reference from a supervisory position within the last 24 months preferred
Requirements
- Active IA or compact RN license required at the time of consideration
- BLS from AHA or ARC and PALS from AHA required
- APHON certification required
- Minimum 24 months of recent pediatric and/or oncology RN experience required
- Pediatric experience within the last 18 months required
- Hematology/oncology experience required
- Documented Epic EMR experience within the past 12 months required
- Must have completed at least one travel assignment in the past 18 months; first-time travelers not accepted
- Willingness to float to ED and other pediatric units required
- Driver’s license required for consideration
