Job Description

American Traveler seeks a CT Technologist with at least one year of Radiologic Technologist experience and ARRT or SCRQSA certification for a 13-week hospital contract.

Responsibilities

• Position is based in a hospital CT department with potential to float to a nearby sister hospital
• Work involves day/evening shifts on a 4-week rotating schedule with every 4th weekend required
• On-call requirement includes 2-3 twenty-four hour call shifts every 6 weeks
• Uses Cerner EMR for charting
• Frequent standing, walking, lifting/moving up to 50 lbs, and exposure to radiation and healthcare-related hazards
• Responsible for producing CT images as ordered under radiologist supervision for accurate diagnosis
• Assist radiologists on procedures and supervise student technologists as assigned
• Must adhere to established protocols, practice radiation safety, and comply with OSHA, DHEC, FDA, and TJC standards
• Team collaboration and flexibility are essential, including assisting other imaging department staff
• Travelers may not be considered local if residing within 50 miles of the facility
• Assignment duration is up to one year with a required 30-60 day break before returning
• Weekend, holiday, and floating coverage may be required based on operational needs
• Allow at least two weeks for required background check and drug screening processes

Requirements

• One year of experience as a Radiologic Technologist required
• High school diploma or GED required; graduation from an accredited Allied Health program and completion of a CT program preferred
• Registered in Radiologic Technology by ARRT or permanent certification in Radiography from SCRQSA
• ARRT (CT) registration preferred
• Current South Carolina Radiographer License or compact equivalent required if applicable
• Current BLS for Healthcare Providers from AHA is required
• Experience with Cerner charting system preferred
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to instruct and teach CT exams
