Job Description

American Traveler is seeking a CT Technologist for a weekend night shift contract with ARRT (R) certification and at least one year of radiologic technologist experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Work in a hospital CT department with exposure to a variety of patient cases
• Weekend night shifts, Friday through Sunday, 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
• 14-week contract assignment
• On-call required for 2-3, 24-hour shifts every 6 weeks
• May require floating to sister hospital locations
• Charting performed in Cerner EMR system, prior experience preferred
• Responsible for patient care and safety during imaging procedures using age-appropriate care
• Produce CT radiographs under the supervision of radiologists according to established protocols
• Assist with the supervision and clinical education of student technologists
• Frequent standing, walking, patient lifting and exposure to radiation and healthcare-related hazards
• Adherence to department and safety policies, including infection and radiation safety standards
• Exposure to stressful conditions, deadlines, and potentially irregular hours
• Team-oriented environment with collaborative approach to departmental operations
• No local candidates accepted within a 50-mile radius
• Assignment limited to one year; must take a 30–60 day break before returning for a new assignment

Requirements

• Active South Carolina or compact state license required if applicable
• ARRT (R) Radiography certification required
• South Carolina Radiation Quality Standard Association (SCRQSA) Radiographer Certification required
• Current BLS certification through the American Heart Association
• Minimum of a high school diploma or GED required; graduation from an accredited Allied Health Professionals program or completion of an accredited CT program preferred
• At least one year of experience as a Radiologic Technologist preferred
• Proficiency in performing and teaching CT exams to produce diagnostic images
• Ability to operate CT and post processing equipment
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
