Job Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced PACU RN with a current MA license and AHA certifications for a day shift position in a surgical services unit.

Responsibilities

• Work in the Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) within a surgical services department
• Handles cases for general, thoracic, plastic, vascular, orthopedic, urology, and gynecology surgeries
• Care is provided to pediatric, adult, and geriatric patient populations
• 34-bed PACU with 30 to 40 patients seen daily
• Clinician to patient ratio is 1 RN to 2 patients
• Uses Epic EMR system and experience with Epic is required
• Day shift Monday through Friday, 9:00am to 5:30pm
• No floating or night shifts required, but may rotate to occasional day shifts
• Administer post-anesthesia care for surgical patients across multiple specialties
• Patient caseload includes pediatric through geriatric age groups
• Flu vaccine is required with no exemptions accepted
• Local candidates must reside at least 60 miles from Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston
• Parking is not validated; public transportation and paid parking are available
• Timekeeping is done through UKG/Kronos system

Requirements

• Active MA RN license required; no pending or conditional licenses accepted
• Minimum of 5 years of RN experience required
• Current AHA BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications are required; Salem location accepts AHA only
• Experience in PACU or post-anesthesia care is strongly preferred
