Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a night shift Cardiac/Pulmonary Med/Surg position requiring EPIC and Level 1 Trauma experience.

Responsibilities

• Work in a cardiac/pulmonary medical-surgical unit within a hospital setting
• Patient population includes acute and chronically ill cardiac and pulmonary patients
• Night shift schedule from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM, three 12-hour shifts per week
• Epic EMR is used on the unit and experience is required
• No travel partners are accepted
• Manage the care of patients with acute and chronic cardiac and pulmonary conditions
• Collaborate with patients and families to establish and maintain care plans
• Implement medications, evaluate effectiveness, and prepare patients for procedures
• Complete assessments and develop, modify, and document plans of care in accordance with unit standards
• Delegate and follow up on care tasks such as turning, toileting, and responding to call lights
• Professional communication and conflict management with all team members
• Must document all care and participate in team huddles
• Requests for time off must not exceed 7 total days per 13 week contract
• Contingent workers may not be on assignment continuously for more than one year and require a 6-month break before returning

Requirements

• Active IL RN license in good standing or temporary license accepted
• Minimum of one year of relevant nursing experience required
• BLS and ACLS certifications from the American Heart Association are required
• Documented experience in a Level 1 Trauma setting is required
• Epic charting system experience is required
• Associate's degree in nursing or higher is required
• Must be able to speak, read, and write English
• Must live at least 50 miles from the facility; local candidates are not accepted
