Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position requiring an active NM or compact RN license and recent large ED experience.
Responsibilities
- Work in a hospital Emergency Department setting
- Care for diverse patient populations in a fast-paced, large emergency room
- 12-hour night shifts from 18:45 to 07:15, three days per week
- Floating to departments and local locations within 20 miles is required
- Uses Epic EMR; Epic experience preferred but on-site training available
- No local candidates considered; must reside at least 50 miles from the facility
- Applicants with previous staff employment must wait one year before being eligible as a traveler
- Role includes clinical supervision of LPNs and assistive personnel
- Expect to complete population-specific education and competency testing per unit standards
- First day orientation includes BCA testing, which must be passed to begin assignment
Requirements
- Active RN license from New Mexico or a compact state
- Minimum of two years recent experience in a large Emergency Department
- Successful completion of at least one previous 13-week travel assignment
- Certifications required: BLS, ACLS, PALS (all from AHA, American Health and Safety, or American Red Cross), and NIHSS
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) required
- Must pass the onsite Basic Cardiac Arrhythmia (BCA) test; one retest allowed
- Proficient in English (reading, writing, and speaking)
