Job Description

American Traveler is seeking a Registered Nurse for a Med/Surg Telemetry Float Pool position, requiring an active NJ or Compact RN license and at least 1.5 years of acute care experience.

Responsibilities

• Work in a float pool across eight MS/Tele units within a hospital setting
• Night shifts, three 12-hour shifts per week from 19:00 to 07:30
• Every other weekend is required
• Patient ratios typically range from 1:5 to 1:6 or higher
• May float to additional units based on skill set and hospital needs
• Report to the Nursing Office for daily unit assignment
• Uses Epic for charting
• Must wear navy blue scrubs while on shift
• First time travelers are welcome to apply
• Former RWJBH staff (full time or PRN) must have at least a one year lapse before eligibility for travel assignments
• Locals are accepted at the same rate
• Holiday coverage may be required according to facility needs
• All RNs are required to complete specific IV and Central Line education prior to assignment

Requirements

• Active NJ or Compact RN license required at time of consideration
• Minimum 1.5 years acute care experience related to the position
• BLS and NIHSS certifications required
• Stroke CEUs required
• Peripheral IV and Central Line Education Package must be completed
• ACLS certification preferred
