Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Telemetry Float Pool position, requiring a NJ or compact RN license and night shift availability.

Responsibilities

• Work in a hospital environment with assignments across eight Med/Surg and Telemetry units as part of a float pool
• Patient ratios range from 1:5 to 1:6 or above depending on unit
• Night shifts (3x12 hours) from 19:00 to 07:30
• Requires working every other weekend
• Unit assignment provided by the Nursing Office each shift based on hospital needs and skill set
• Uses Epic charting system
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Scrub color required is navy blue
• All RNs must complete mandated peripheral IV and central line training prior to beginning assignment
• Returning employees must have been separated from the health system for a minimum of one year before being eligible for travel assignments
• Local candidates are accepted at the same rate
• Background or license issues are not accepted

Requirements

• Active NJ or Compact RN license required
• BLS and NIH Stroke Scale certifications required
• Completion of Stroke Continuing Education Units (CEUs) required
• 1.5 years or more of recent acute care experience relevant to position required
• Peripheral IV and Central Line education package must be completed prior to start
• ACLS certification preferred
