Job Description
American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Coronary Care Unit (CCU) position requiring strong cardiac and critical care experience, with advanced hemodynamic monitoring skills preferred.
Responsibilities
- 32-bed Coronary Care Unit (CCU) in a hospital setting in Nashville, TN
- Night shift schedule: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
- Patient ratio of 2:1
- Procedures performed on the unit include central line insertion, Swan-Ganz catheter insertion, and intubations
- Advanced equipment in use includes Hill-Rom beds and Philips telemetry monitors
- Charting is done in Meditech
- 3–4 weekend shifts required per 4-week scheduling period
- Floating to other units may be required based on census
- Student nurse externs serve as techs; unit secretary available Monday–Friday, 7:30 AM – 3:30 PM
- 13-week contract
- Scrub colors permitted: galaxy blue, red, or black; scrub jackets or vests only
- Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility — local candidates are not eligible
- NIH Stroke Scale certification is required for ICU RNs per HCA policy and should be obtained prior to assignment start
Requirements
- Active RN license — Tennessee or compact state license required
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications (AHA or ARC accepted; must not expire within the first 30 days of the assignment)
- Minimum 2 years of recent CCU or critical care experience
- Strong cardiac and critical care background required
- Experience with PA catheters and hemodynamic monitoring required
- Experience with IABP, Impella, and CRRT preferred
- US SSN and date of birth required for consideration
- One professional reference required (two required if licensed in Florida or Missouri)
- No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months
