Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Telemetry position requiring a minimum of 2 years of recent hospital-based Med/Surg experience and an active KS or Compact RN license.

Responsibilities

• Work setting is an acute care hospital Med/Surg Telemetry unit (2 South/North)
• Patient population includes General Surgery, Bariatric, Gynecological, Urology, Orthopedic, and Medical patients (cellulitis, back pain, kidney stones)
• Procedures and skills include Heparin Drips, TPN, PCAs, and telemetry rhythm interpretation
• EMR is Epic; ability to test out of Epic training may be possible
• 12-hour night shifts, 6:45 PM – 7:15 AM
• Every other weekend required
• No on-call responsibilities
• Holiday coverage based on unit needs
• Floating required to all acute care units
• Orientation consists of approximately 5 days: initial NEO at the main campus, followed by on-site orientation and Director of Nursing training, with virtual Epic training on day 5 if unable to test out
• This is a nicotine-free facility
• Local candidates are accepted at the same rate as travel candidates

Requirements

• Active KS RN or Compact RN license required
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of recent Med/Surg experience within the last 18 months in a hospital setting
• Experience with General Surgery, Bariatric, Gynecological, Urology, and Orthopedic patient populations required
• Experience with Medical diagnoses including cellulitis, back pain, and kidney stones required
• Experience with Heparin Drips, TPN, and PCAs required
• Ability to measure and interpret telemetry rhythms required
• New graduates are not eligible for this position
• Two professional references required for consideration
