Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an Adult Medical Oncology (Med/Surg Tele) position requiring a minimum of 2 years of nursing experience, oncology background, and prior travel assignment experience.
Responsibilities
- Work in an Adult Medical Oncology telemetry unit (Med/Surg Tele) within a large academic hospital setting (500+ bed facility)
- Patient population includes adult oncology, bone marrow transplant (BMT), CAR-T, hematologic and solid tumor malignancies, and acute care telemetry patients
- Chemotherapy is administered on the unit; travel nurses are not required to administer chemo
- Alaris pumps are used on the unit
- Epic EMR is used (experience preferred)
- Night shift: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM (12-hour shifts)
- Every other weekend required
- Holiday coverage as needed by the unit
- No on-call requirements
- Care for adult oncology patients including those undergoing bone marrow transplant, CAR-T therapy, and treatment for hematologic and solid tumor malignancies
- Local candidates are accepted at the same bill rate
- Orientation is held on the 2nd and 4th Monday of each month
Requirements
- Active RN license — Maryland license or Compact RN license currently in hand
- Current BLS certification required
- Minimum 2 years of current RN experience required
- Oncology nursing background required
- Telemetry experience required
- 1–2 prior travel assignments required
- Experience in a comparable large hospital setting (500+ beds) required
- Chemo certification preferred
- SSN and DOB required for consideration
- 1 professional reference required for consideration
