Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position requiring a minimum of 2 years of acute care ER experience and active certifications including NIHSS and ESI.

Responsibilities

• Night shift schedule: 7p-7a (3x12-hour shifts)
• Fast-paced ED serving a highly acute patient population, seeing approximately 175–200 patients per day
• Serves as a comprehensive care hub supporting a transplant center, burn center, LVAD, total heart, PICU, NICU, L&D, comprehensive stroke center, chest pain center, and ECMO cannulation in the ED
• Prior experience should include a minimum 30-bed ER environment
• Rotating on-call and rotating weekend call required
• Floating required within scope to meet facility needs, including to sister facilities within a 75-mile radius
• Block scheduling is not available
• Charting performed in Epic
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Candidates who were previously permanent staff must have been separated from this health system for at least 1 year to be eligible
• RTO is limited to a maximum of 5 days per 13-week assignment; holiday and blackout dates cannot be requested
• Any gaps of 3 or more months in work history must include an explanation

Requirements

• Active OK RN license or Compact RN license currently in hand — pending licenses are not accepted
• Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS, and ESI
• Minimum 2 years of ER experience in an acute care setting
• Valid driver's license or state-issued ID required
• Utility bill in the candidate's name with a matching address dated within the last 3 months of the assignment start date
• 2 supervisory references required for consideration
• Copies of all certifications required for consideration
• Permanent address must be more than 75 miles from the facility — local candidates are not eligible
