Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Hematology/Oncology Med/Surg Telemetry position in Boston, MA, requiring chemotherapy competency and strong telemetry skills.
Responsibilities
- Acute medical-surgical unit specializing in Hematology/Oncology and Sickle Cell disease
- Specialized therapies include administration and monitoring of inpatient chemotherapy/immunotherapy, CAR-T, Stem Cell transplant, Gene Therapy, and new and emerging clinical trials
- 22-bed unit with a general patient ratio of 1:3 to 1:4, varying based on acuity
- Night shift, 12-hour shifts, 36 hours per week
- Every other weekend required
- Every other holiday required
- Epic EMR experience preferred
- Administer and monitor complex oncology therapies including inpatient chemotherapy, immunotherapy, CAR-T, Stem Cell transplant, and Gene Therapy in a multidisciplinary care environment
- Candidates must pass the Relias Advanced Dysrhythmia Test (A or B) — this test may only be taken twice
- Local candidates are accepted for this position
- References from other travelers are not accepted
- At least one reference should ideally come from a recent temporary or travel assignment
Requirements
- Active MA RN license required
- Current BLS certification required
- ONS certification preferred
- Minimum 2 years of acute care experience in Adult Med/Surg and Hematology/Oncology required
- Chemotherapy competency required
- Strong telemetry skills required — must be able to independently read and interpret telemetry rhythm strips
- Level 1 Trauma Hospital experience required
- Must pass a telemetry test with a score of 85% or better
- Two professional references required — at least one must be from a manager-level or above, must include a performance evaluation, one within the last 12 months and one within the last 3 years
