Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced travel RN for a Telemetry position requiring prior travel experience, Epic proficiency, and every other weekend availability.

Responsibilities

• Hospital telemetry unit (5 North) with 36 private rooms
• Patient population ranges from young adults through geriatric patients, with a focus on cardiac care and recovery from cardiac interventions including cardiac surgery, coronary artery stent placement, and pacemaker implantation
• Hemodynamically stable non-procedural cardiac patients are also admitted to this unit
• Patient ratio of 1:6
• Day shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts, 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM
• Every other weekend required
• Floating required to units of equal or lesser acuity
• Epic EMR — experience required
• Candidates residing within the following counties are not eligible: Henderson, Anderson, Cherokee, Rusk, Panola, Smith, Gregg, Van Zandt, Wood, Upshur, Camp, Hopkins, Franklin, Titus, and Morris
• Former permanent staff must have been separated from the facility for at least 1 year before being considered as a traveler
• No more than 3 days of RTO will be approved for the contract, and no RTO is permitted during the first week of orientation
• Two professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years are required for consideration
• Travel pairs or groups will not be accepted for this position

Requirements

• Active TX or Compact RN license currently in hand
• Minimum 2 years of RN telemetry experience
• Prior travel nursing experience required — first-time travelers will not be considered
• Current BLS certification required; NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification preferred
• Epic EMR experience required
