Description
American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Medicine Specialty Unit position requiring Med/Surg and Stepdown experience, with at least 1 year of travel nursing experience and AHA-issued certifications.
Details
- Position is located in a hospital Medicine Specialty Unit
- Patients present with health problems ranging from simple to complex
- 12-hour day shifts, 3 days per week (36 hours per week)
- Med/Surg and Stepdown experience required for this unit
- Level I trauma experience preferred
Requirements
- Active RN license issued by the Oklahoma State Board of Nursing or a current multistate compact RN license (eNLC) required
- Current BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association required
- Minimum of 1 year of RN experience required
- Minimum of 1 year of travel nursing experience required
- Associate's Degree in Nursing (ADN) from an accredited program required; BSN preferred
- Proficiency in nursing theory, practices, techniques, and procedures
- Ability to organize, coordinate, and evaluate nursing care
- Basic computer skills required
- Full date of birth and full SSN required for consideration
Additional Information
- Responsibilities include assuming care for an assigned patient group, documenting patient responses to interventions and treatments, monitoring physiological data, administering medications, managing IV infusions and blood products, and delegating tasks to support staff
- Collaborates with physicians during patient examinations and minor diagnostic procedures
- Communicates care plans and discharge instructions to patients and families, and makes referrals to appropriate personnel as needed
- Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible — local candidates are not accepted
- Travelers who have previously worked at this facility may extend once for a maximum total of 26 weeks; a 6-month separation period is required before returning after 26 weeks
- Compliance with onboarding requirements (drug screening, background check, medical requirements) must begin immediately upon acceptance of an offer
- All certifications must be issued by the American Heart Association (AHA)
