Job Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Vascular Interventional Radiology position requiring a minimum of 3 years of nursing experience, Epic proficiency, and an active IL RN license.

Responsibilities

  • Position is based in a Vascular Interventional Radiology department within a Level 1 Trauma hospital
  • Provides 1:1 direct care to adult patients undergoing a variety of diagnostic and interventional procedures
  • Procedures include peripheral vascular work, venous central lines, tube changes, embolization (arterial/venous), and venous thrombectomy; neuro experience is ideal
  • Works as part of a small, collaborative team of 3–4 staff comprised of RNs and Radiology Technologists
  • Day shift schedule: 7:30 AM–5:00 PM, 4 days per week, 36 hours per week
  • Epic EMR experience required
  • Administers moderate sedation and other procedure-related medications per facility policy
  • Performs hemodynamic monitoring, identifies life-threatening arrhythmias, and implements appropriate clinical interventions
  • Completes patient assessments, develops and modifies plans of care, and maintains accurate documentation throughout the care continuum
  • Collaborates with a multidisciplinary team and communicates with patients and families to provide education and emotional support
  • Participates in department quality improvement and evidence-based practice initiatives
  • Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position
  • RTO is not to exceed 7 total days per 13-week contract
  • Contingent workers may not remain on continuous assignment at this health system for more than 1 year; a 6-month break in service is required before returning to any location within the system

Requirements

  • Active IL RN license in good standing required; temporary license accepted
  • Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and PALS (all through American Heart Association)
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant nursing experience required
  • Epic EMR experience required
  • Level 1 Trauma experience required
  • Associate's degree (ASN) required; BSN preferred
  • Experience with moderate sedation administration and hemodynamic monitoring required
