Job Description

American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a night shift Emergency Department position in California, requiring at least 2 years of ED experience and active CA RN licensure.

Responsibilities

  • Emergency Department (ED) unit within an acute care hospital setting
  • Night shift schedule: 19:00–07:30
  • 13-week contract
  • Responsible for delivery of safe patient care utilizing the nursing process: assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation
  • Communicates with physicians regarding changes in patient condition, diagnostic results, and symptomatology
  • Must be capable of responding quickly and accurately to changes in patient condition or response to treatment
  • Knowledgeable about EMTALA regulations and mandatory reporting of child and adult abuse
  • Directs and guides patient and family teaching, as well as the activities of other nursing personnel
  • Local candidates are accepted for this position

Requirements

  • Active CA RN license required
  • Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department nursing experience
  • Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and PALS — all from American Heart Association or Red Cross
  • DCI/BVP (Workplace Violence Prevention) certification required; may be completed via Relias, Healthcare Staffing Hire, or the free CDC NIOSH resource
  • EMR experience required; candidates must have experience on the specific EMR system used at the facility
  • DOB and SSN required for consideration
