Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg position requiring Epic proficiency and an Idaho (or compact) RN license, with a 100-mile radius eligibility requirement.

Responsibilities

• Inpatient Medical/Surgical unit in a community hospital setting
• 48-bed unit caring for a wide range of adult and geriatric patient diagnoses including sepsis, CIWA, AMS/confusion, COPD, post-op care, AKI, trauma, respiratory failure, bowel obstruction, pyelonephritis, cardiac conditions, diabetes, GI conditions, isolation, and SI with medical indications
• Patient ratio of 1:6
• Day shift, 3x12-hour shifts (7:00–19:00)
• Floating required based on demonstrated competencies
• Charting via Epic (experience required)
• Candidates must reside at least 100 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position
• Former permanent staff must have been separated from the facility for at least 1 year before being considered as a traveler
• No more than 3 days of RTO will be auto-approved; no RTO during the first week of orientation
• Orientation modules are completed onsite and are non-billable
• 2 professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years are required for consideration
• Travel pairs or groups will not be considered

Requirements

• Active Idaho RN license or compact RN license currently in hand
• Current BLS certification required
• ACLS certification required (must be obtained within 12 months of hire)
• Minimum 1 year of Med/Surg RN experience required; 2 years preferred
• Travel nursing experience preferred
• Epic EMR experience required
• Teaching hospital experience preferred; Trauma Level II experience preferred
• Proficiency in a broad range of Med/Surg skills including respiratory management, IV therapy, cardiac monitoring, wound care, and isolation precautions
