Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg position in Syracuse, NY, specializing in stroke and medical patient care with a minimum of 2 years of acute care experience.

Responsibilities

• Medical/Surgical unit (6N Irving) within a hospital setting
• Patient population consists primarily of stroke and medical patients
• Night shift schedule: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM (12-hour shifts)
• Every other weekend required
• 16-week contract
• Charting is performed in Epic
• Candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility are considered local and subject to a different pay rate
• Any color scrubs are acceptable

Requirements

• Active NY RN license required
• Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) — NIHSS must be obtained prior to start
• Minimum 2 years of acute care experience required
• Prior stroke care experience required
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Epic EMR experience required
• Resume with no gaps in work history required for consideration
• 2 professional references from a manager or supervisor within the last year required for consideration
• Skills checklist completed within the last 12 months required for consideration
