Job Description

American Traveler is hiring a travel Occupational Therapist with inpatient rehab and/or hospital experience for a 13-week day shift contract at an acute care hospital in San Antonio, TX.

Responsibilities

• Inpatient rehabilitation setting within an acute care hospital in San Antonio, TX
• Physical Therapy unit serving neuro and orthopedic patient populations, including Ortho, Tele, and ICU
• Performs inpatient rehab OT evaluations and treatments, including neuro and ortho cases, as well as acute care evaluations
• Day shift, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
• Requires two weekend shifts per month, with a day off during the week to compensate
• Call requirements to be discussed during interview
• Documentation system: Meditech
• Floating to other units is required per facility policy
• Conduct inpatient OT evaluations and treatments for neurological and orthopedic patients, as well as acute care patients across Ortho, Tele, and ICU
• All travelers are required to adhere to the facility's floating policy, which will be discussed during the interview
• Scrub color requirement: sage green/olive scrub top, black scrub pants, sage green scrub jacket; white or black undershirts only
• Nails must be clean and healthy; hair must be neat with no extreme styles or colors; beards and facial hair must be neatly trimmed
• Body art should be covered whenever possible; visible piercings other than ears are prohibited
• Start time is no later than 8:00 AM

Requirements

• Active OT license required (no temporary licenses); license required if applicable
• Minimum 1 year of experience; 2+ years preferred
• Inpatient rehab and/or acute hospital experience required
• Must have active clinical experience within the last 6 months in the relevant specialty
• 2–3 years of rehab and/or acute hospital experience preferred
• Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred
• NDT or brain injury certification preferred
• SSN and DOB required for consideration
• One professional reference required (two required for candidates licensed in Florida or Missouri)
• Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible; local candidates will not be considered
• No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months
