Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position at an acute care hospital in California, requiring TNCC and a minimum of 2 years of ED experience.

Responsibilities

  • Works in the Emergency Department of a 200-bed acute care hospital
  • Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts with variable start times (10:00 PM, 11:00 PM, or 12:00 AM)
  • Patient ratio of 1:4
  • Charting via Epic (experience required)
  • Every other weekend required
  • No on-call responsibilities
  • Travelers may be required to float between facilities within the state
  • Local candidates are not accepted
  • 13-week contract
  • First-time travelers are welcome to apply
  • Solid royal blue scrubs required
  • Free parking available on-site
  • All requested time off (RTO) must be submitted at the time of application; post-offer RTO requests may be denied
  • Former permanent staff must wait at least 3 months before returning as a traveler and must not reside within 50 miles of the facility
  • Refusal to float between facilities within the state may result in termination of assignment

Requirements

  • Active CA RN license required (pending licenses not accepted)
  • Current certifications required: ACLS, BLS, NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS), PALS, and TNCC
  • Minimum 2 years of ED RN experience required
  • Epic EMR experience required
  • At least 2 supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years in a comparable specialty/setting required for consideration
  • SSN and DOB required for consideration
