Job Description

American Traveler is hiring a CT Technologist with a minimum of 3 years of experience to work in inpatient, ED, and outpatient settings at a Level 3 Trauma facility serving a neonate-to-geriatric patient population.

Responsibilities

• Inpatient, ED, and outpatient CT setting at a Level 3 Trauma hospital with 237 beds, 59 ED treatment areas, and a high volume of Stroke Alerts
• Neonate to geriatric patient population
• 4 CT rooms with an average caseload of 12–24 scans per day
• Performs CT scans on inpatient, ED, and outpatient populations per facility protocols
• Equipment includes Siemens and Philips CT scanners and Fuji PACS
• Epic EMR
• 3x12-hour day shifts, 7:00 AM–7:30 PM, set schedule on Mondays, Thursdays, and Fridays
• Every other weekend required
• 8 days of call total for the assignment; unit will provide at least 2 weeks' notice and will aim to provide the full call schedule within the first week
• Floating within the facility and scope of practice as needed
• First-time travelers are accepted for this position
• Local candidates are accepted
• Perform CT scans on IP, ER, and OP patients per facility protocols; responsibilities include starting IVs, obtaining patient consent, and maintaining a collaborative work environment with technologists, nurses, physicians, and transporters
• Gray scrubs required
• RTO maximum of 7 days for the assignment; RTO cannot be requested during the first week of the assignment
• Holiday coverage is required: travelers are expected to work all major holidays that fall within their assignment period if one or two occur; if three major holidays fall within the assignment period, travelers must work two of them — major holidays include Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Christmas Day, and New Year's Eve/New Year's Day
• Travelers who have previously worked at this facility system must be away for a full year before returning as a traveler
• No scheduling change requests or alternate shift requests are permitted — the posted schedule is firm
• This position undergoes a clinical screening review prior to manager consideration
• Full compliance is required prior to the start date

Requirements

• Minimum of 3 years of CT Technologist experience
• Current BLS, ARRT, and ARRT (R)(CT) certifications required
• License required if applicable
• Copies of all required certifications must be provided for consideration
• Experience with inpatient and outpatient CT scanning environments
• Ability to start IVs and obtain patient consent
