Description
American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT/CRT) with NICU/Peds experience for a 12-hour night shift role at a Level 1 Pediatric Trauma Center and teaching hospital.
Details
- 12-hour night shifts, 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM, 36 hours per week
- NICU and Pediatric unit focus, with potential to float to adult patients as needed across the facility
- Patient population ranges from neonates to pediatric, with adult care when floated
- Experience areas include ED, PICU, Peds CVICU, Peds PCU, and general medical floors
- IPPV/NIPPV ventilators are used in this role
- EMR: Epic
- Every other weekend rotation required
- 75% of holidays required
- No floating to outside facilities — this unit's specialty keeps RTs in-house
- Final interview conducted by the hiring manager
Requirements
- RRT or CRT credential required
- NC state licensure required (license required if applicable)
- Minimum 2 years of Respiratory Therapy experience in a resource/float team capacity
- Minimum 12 months of core experience in unit specialty area, with most recent experience within the last year
- IPPV/NIPPV ventilator experience required
- Experience in ED, PICU, Peds CVICU, Peds PCU, or general medical floors required
- Teaching hospital experience preferred
- Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NRP
- Last 4 digits of SSN and full date of birth required for consideration
- Minimum 1 professional reference dated within the past year, from a Supervisor, Manager, Director, or Charge RN
- Candidate's permanent address must be located at least 50 miles from the facility — local candidates are not accepted
Additional Information
- Provide respiratory care to patients across the facility, with primary focus on neonatal and pediatric populations
- Supported by Respiratory Leadership within the department
- Orientation includes NEO training plus 2 days of departmental orientation
- Required scrub color: royal blue

- Candidates who have previously worked a permanent position at an AHSE facility must have been separated for at least 1 year before being considered
