Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an Interventional Radiology position at an acute care hospital in Mission Viejo, CA, requiring Epic proficiency, stroke experience, and on-call availability.

Responsibilities

488-bed acute care hospital setting in Mission Viejo, CA
Interventional Radiology unit
Patient ratio of 1:2
Day shift, 4x10-hour shifts (7:00–17:30)
On-call required: 12 calls per 6-week period, including one weekend
Minimum every other weekend required; may exceed based on unit needs
Floating required between like units, including possible float to Providence Mission Laguna and other facilities within the state
Charting via Epic (experience required)
Free parking available on site
Royal blue scrubs required for RN staff
Candidates living within 50 miles of the facility may be subject to a local pay rate — contact your recruiter for details
All requested time off (RTO) must be submitted at the time of initial consideration; post-offer RTO requests may be denied
Former permanent staff of this health system must wait at least 3 months before returning as a traveler, and must not reside within 50 miles of the facility
Travelers are expected to float between all facilities within the state; refusal to float may result in assignment termination
Block scheduling requests are considered at the manager's discretion

Requirements

Active CA RN license required (pending licenses not accepted)
Current certifications required: ACLS, BLS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
Minimum 1 year of RN experience required
Stroke experience required
Epic EMR experience required
Must reside within 30 miles of the facility to meet on-call stroke response requirements
At least 2 supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years in a comparable specialty or setting required for consideration
SSN and DOB required for consideration
First-time travelers are not eligible for this position
