Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a PCU/Stepdown night shift position requiring at least 2 years of Level I trauma facility experience and active KY or compact licensure.

Responsibilities

• Progressive Care Unit (PCU) / Stepdown setting within a large academic medical center
• Med/Surg patient population in a stepdown environment
• Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts, 19:00–07:30
• Every other weekend required
• Floating required to other universal/progressive areas within the health system
• Block scheduling is not available for this position
• Full week time-off requests between May and August will not be approved
• Candidates whose permanent residence is within 100 miles of the facility are not eligible for this position
• Former permanent staff must have been separated from the facility for at least 6 months before being eligible to return as a traveler
• All requested time off (RTO) must be disclosed at the time of submission — RTO requests made after submission will not be approved
• 14-week contract

Requirements

• Active KY or compact RN license currently in hand — license must have no hits or disciplinary actions
• Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
• Minimum 2 years of experience at a Level I trauma facility
• Experience required in progressive care (PC), acute care (AC), telemetry, and Med/Surg
• 2 supervisor references from within the last 3 years of employment required for consideration
