Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a PCU/Step-Down (Telemetry) position in Plano, TX, requiring 2+ years of hospital and specialty experience with an active TX RN license.

Details

• Located in a PCU/Telemetry Step-Down unit (6th Floor) within a hospital setting in Plano, TX
• Day shift schedule: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM
• Rotating weekend shifts required
• On-call requirements apply
• Floating to other units on an as-needed basis
• 13-week contract
• Meditech is the documentation system used on this unit

Requirements

• Active TX RN license required — temp licenses are not accepted; compact license is not sufficient
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required (AHA or ARC accepted; must not expire within the first 30 days of the assignment start)
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification required for PCU/Tele RNs
• Minimum 2 years of hospital experience required
• Minimum 2 years of PCU, Telemetry, or Step-Down specialty experience required
• US SSN and date of birth required for consideration — no Canadian SSNs accepted
• One professional reference required
• No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months

Additional Information

• Meditech EMR experience is preferred
• Royal blue scrubs are required
• Nail policy: clean and natural nails only — no artificial, gel, or next-gen nails permitted
• Hair must be neat, with no extreme styles or colors; must be pulled back if shoulder-length or longer
• Visible piercings beyond the ears (including nose and tongue rings) are not permitted
• Body art/tattoos should be covered whenever possible
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility — local candidates are not eligible for this position
