Job Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Operating Room position requiring at least 2 years of OR experience across various specialties and an active SC or compact RN license.

Responsibilities

• 13-week contract at a hospital-based Operating Room
• Works across various OR specialties
• Schedule is 4x10-hour shifts per day, with days varying based on departmental need
• Shift hours are 6:30 AM – 5:00 PM
• On-call requirement includes one weekday call per week and one call weekend per month
• Responsibilities include scrubbing and/or circulating for operative procedures and managing department admissions to the operative suite
• Prepares the OR for the patient and surgical procedure, assembling equipment and supplies and ensuring everything is functional and available
• Adheres to aseptic technique standards and intraoperative patient care planning in coordination with the surgical team
• Serves as a communication liaison between patients, families, and members of the operating team
• CPI certification is mandated for this position

Requirements

• Active SC or compact RN license (no pending licenses accepted)
• Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and PALS (AHA-issued only)
• Minimum 2 years of OR experience in a US hospital across various specialties
• Graduate of an accredited or NLN-approved RN program
• BSN is highly desired
• US Social Security Number required
• Date of birth required for consideration
• Two manager or supervisor references preferred, verifying experience within the past 12 months, with at least one from the most recent employer
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible
