Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Stepdown/Med Surg position requiring at least 3 years of experience, ACLS certification, and the ability to work 12-hour night shifts.

Details

• Acute care setting in a Stepdown/Med Surg unit with 20 beds
• Patient population includes respiratory issues, weakness, UTI, AKI, and chest pain
• Stepdown ratio is 1:3; Med Surg floor ratio is 1:5-6, with 2 nursing aides per shift
• RNs are required to titrate drips including Heparin, insulin, Cardizem, and amiodarone
• Respiratory therapy equipment in use includes CPAP, BiPAP, and high-flow oxygen
• Telemetry is monitored remotely at Ruby (monitor techs off-site)
• EMR: Epic
• 12-hour night shifts
• 3 weekend shifts required per 4-week schedule
• Holiday rotation required (evening or day)

Requirements

• Active WV or Compact RN license required
• Current certifications required: BLS (AHA) and ACLS
• Minimum 3 years of RN experience required
• Stepdown unit experience required
• A valid, unexpired driver's license is required for consideration
• Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position

Additional Information

• Royal blue scrubs required
• Unit-specific orientation is provided
• No on-call or standby requirement
• No floating requirement
• Travelers who have previously worked at any WVU Medicine location must have taken a 2-year break before applying; cumulative experience applies and travelers may not work within the WVU system for longer than one year total before a 2-year break is required
• Candidates may only be submitted to one WVU facility at a time
