Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Cardiovascular ICU position at a pediatric hospital in San Antonio, TX, requiring pediatric cardiac experience and a TX or compact RN license.

Details

Located in a pediatric hospital setting within a Cardiovascular ICU (CVICU) department
Pediatric cardiac patient population requiring advanced critical care management
Hands-on experience with chest tubes, pacing wires, ventilators, and vasoactive infusions required
Night shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
13-week contract

Requirements

Active RN license in TX or a compact state currently in hand
Current certifications required (AHA only): BLS, ACLS, and PALS
Minimum 1 year of experience in a critical care setting
Pediatric cardiac ICU experience required, including chest tubes, pacing wires, ventilators, and vasoactive infusions
SSN required for consideration
2 professional references required for consideration
Current primary source license verification (Nursys) required for consideration
Copies of all active certifications required for consideration

Additional Information

Provides routine and complex nursing care using the nursing process: assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation
Administers medications and treatments per protocol, monitoring for side effects and effectiveness
Addresses complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of pediatric patients and families
Educates patients, family members, and caregivers; identifies issues and available resources
All newly hired RNs must attend New Nurses Orientation within the first 30 days
New hires are precepted by a designated trained staff member with competency validation completed for both organizational onboarding and CVICU-specific requirements
BSN preferred but not required
Temp-to-perm opportunity may be available
Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for travel pay rates
