Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Cardiovascular ICU position at a pediatric hospital in San Antonio, TX, requiring pediatric cardiac experience and a TX or compact RN license.
Details
- Located in a pediatric hospital setting within a Cardiovascular ICU (CVICU) department
- Pediatric cardiac patient population requiring advanced critical care management
- Hands-on experience with chest tubes, pacing wires, ventilators, and vasoactive infusions required
- Night shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
- 13-week contract
Requirements
- Active RN license in TX or a compact state currently in hand
- Current certifications required (AHA only): BLS, ACLS, and PALS
- Minimum 1 year of experience in a critical care setting
- Pediatric cardiac ICU experience required, including chest tubes, pacing wires, ventilators, and vasoactive infusions
- SSN required for consideration
- 2 professional references required for consideration
- Current primary source license verification (Nursys) required for consideration
- Copies of all active certifications required for consideration
Additional Information
- Provides routine and complex nursing care using the nursing process: assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation
- Administers medications and treatments per protocol, monitoring for side effects and effectiveness
- Addresses complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of pediatric patients and families
- Educates patients, family members, and caregivers; identifies issues and available resources
- All newly hired RNs must attend New Nurses Orientation within the first 30 days
- New hires are precepted by a designated trained staff member with competency validation completed for both organizational onboarding and CVICU-specific requirements
- BSN preferred but not required
- Temp-to-perm opportunity may be available
- Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for travel pay rates
