Description

American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Level III Trauma Center Emergency Department in Tuscaloosa, AL, requiring at least 2 years of experience and mid-shift availability.

Details

• 54-bed Emergency Department in a state-designated Level III Trauma Center and Level II Stroke Center treating over 60,000 patients annually
• ED staffed 24/7 by a multidisciplinary team including physicians, nurse practitioners, nurses, and support staff
• Nurse-to-patient ratios range from 1:1 for critical/trauma patients to 1:3-4 for all other patients
• All age groups served across the full spectrum of emergency medical presentations
• Mid shift: 3:00 PM – 3:00 AM
• Every other weekend required
• Holiday coverage required
• Floating to other units and hospitals is required
• EMR: Meditech (experience not required)

Requirements

• Active AL state or compact RN license required — no temporary or pending licenses accepted
• No hits (past or current) on nursing license allowed
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience, with at least 1 year of recent experience in emergency nursing
• Associate degree in nursing (ADN) required
• Required certifications: AHA BLS, AHA ACLS, AHA PALS, TNCC, NIH Stroke Scale
• SECURE on-site certification required
• NURSYS verification required
• Current driver's license required for consideration
• Two professional references from within the last year required for consideration

Additional Information

• All ED RNs are required to complete an on-site test in addition to an online pre-test prior to starting
• Virtual orientation will include competency-based modules — no pre-start HealthStream modules required
• Local candidates are accepted at the same rates with no radius restrictions
• Solid navy scrubs required
