Job Description

American Traveler is seeking a travel RN for an ICU night shift position in Ottumwa, IA, requiring a minimum of 1 year of ICU experience and an active Iowa or compact RN license.

Responsibilities

• Work in a 10-bed ICU at a regional health center serving adult patients in Southeast Iowa
• Primary patient population includes adults presenting with COPD, chest pain, and cardiac drip management
• Patient ratio of 1:3
• Mindray equipment used in the unit
• EHR system: MediTech
• Night shift schedule: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
• Every other weekend required
• 8-week contract
• This is a rapid response need — candidates must be available to start within 7–10 days of offer acceptance
• Mandatory Reporter certification (Child and Adult) required prior to start
• Drug screening must be a 10-panel test including opiates
• Background check must include Iowa SING (criminal and child abuse portions) — no instant or statewide searches accepted
• All background check components must be fully cleared prior to start date
• Titers must be from within the last 12 months
• COVID vaccination card required
• Scrubs of any color are acceptable
• Candidates who have worked as permanent staff at any LifePoint facility within the last 12 months are not eligible

Requirements

• Active Iowa RN license or compact RN license currently in hand
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required (RQI certifications are not accepted)
• Minimum 1 year of ICU experience required
• Social Security number required for consideration
• Date of birth required for consideration
• Must reside more than 60 miles from the facility to qualify for travel rates
• Must be available to start within 7–10 days of offer acceptance
• Cannot be employed elsewhere full time
