Job Description

American Traveler is seeking a Physical Therapist with 3+ years of experience for a 13-week assignment at a JCAHO-accredited health center serving a predominantly Native American population in Northwestern Arizona.

Responsibilities

• Monday through Friday, 8am–5pm schedule
• Serves a predominantly Native American population across a 4,400 square-mile service area in Northwestern Arizona
• Provides PT evaluation and treatment to both inpatients and outpatients, spanning all ages from birth through geriatric
• Weekend rotation required for inpatient coverage
• Specialty services include wound care, prosthetic and orthotic clinic, geriatric clinic, high school clinic, functional clinic, spinal cord clinic, assistive technology and adaptive equipment evaluation, and Durable Medical Equipment Prosthetic Orthotic Supply Program
• 73-bed hospital serving as a referral center for the western Navajo and Hopi Reservations
• Responsibilities include managing and implementing the PT program, staff education, quality improvement, risk management, policy and procedure development, and Joint Commission preparation
• New orientation cohorts begin every 2 weeks
• COVID and flu vaccine exemptions may be accepted upon submission of a declination form
• This facility is located in a very rural area; facility-provided housing may be available but is not guaranteed
• Candidates requiring housing must submit a housing application at least 2 weeks prior to the start date
• Diverse, culturally rich community served by a multidisciplinary team including surgeons, internists, psychiatrists, pediatricians, OB/GYNs, and other specialists

Requirements

• Minimum 3 years of physical therapy experience required
• Bachelor's degree from a CAPTE-accredited Physical Therapy program required
• Valid, current, full, and unrestricted PT license in any U.S. state, D.C., or Puerto Rico required; license required if applicable
• Current BLS certification (AHA) required
• Must meet credentialing requirements for the Medical Staff
• SSN required for consideration
• Fingerprinting must be completed and cleared prior to start
