Description
American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for an Operating Room position at a Level 1 trauma hospital in Boston, MA, requiring 2+ years of inpatient OR experience and an active MA RN license.
Details
- 14-week contract with 12-hour shifts on a day/night rotation (7am start on days, 7pm start on nights)
- 36 hours per week
- Surgical services department covering a wide range of specialties including general, GYN, GU, oral, ENT, bariatrics, orthopedics, neuro, vascular, thoracic, cardiac, plastics, podiatry, robotics, pediatrics, trauma, and spine
- 17 OR rooms staffed 24/7
- Every 3rd weekend required as needed
- Every other holiday required
- 1 on-call shift per schedule period
- May float to a secondary OR location as needed
Requirements
- Active MA RN license required
- Current BLS certification required
- Minimum 2 years of inpatient OR experience required
- Must be competent in at least 5 of the surgical service lines offered
- Level 1 trauma hospital experience required
- Scrub experience preferred
- Preferred experience in neuro, vascular, and services beyond general, GYN, and GU scrubbing
- Two professional references required — at least one must be from a manager-level or above (title must reflect 'Manager,' not 'Supervisor'), and must include a performance evaluation; one evaluation must be within the past 12 months, the other within 3 years; references from fellow travelers are not accepted
- Must pass the Relias Advanced Dysrhythmia Test (A or B) — note the test may only be taken twice

- Provides perioperative nursing care across a broad range of surgical specialties in a high-volume, 24/7 OR environment
- A positive attitude, flexibility, and excellent communication skills are essential for this role
- Local candidates are accepted at the same rate as travel candidates
- One reference from a prior travel or temporary assignment is preferred
