Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced CVOR RN for a Level I Trauma Center, Magnet-designated teaching hospital, requiring at least 2 years of OR experience with the ability to circulate across multiple surgical services.
Details
- Position is in a Cardiovascular OR (CVOR) at a Level I Trauma Center, Magnet-designated teaching hospital with 820 staffed beds
- Candidates must be able to circulate all services including cardiothoracic (CT), vascular, surgical oncology, plastics, colorectal, robotics, and bariatrics
- Scrubbing cardiac and vascular cases is highly preferred
- Charting is done via Epic
- Schedule is 3x12-hour shifts, 10:30 AM – 11:00 PM
- On-call is required: 1 twenty-four-hour call shift per month, on a weekend (Saturday or Sunday)
- Holiday coverage may be required
Requirements
- Active SC RN license or compact RN license required; candidates with a pending SC license may be considered but must be fully licensed before starting
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications required — AHA-issued only
- Minimum 2 years of OR/CVOR experience required
- Ability to circulate all services (CT, vascular, surgical oncology, plastics, colorectal, robotics, bariatrics) is required
- A radiation badge is required for this role and will be provided by the agency
- SSN and valid driver's license required for consideration
- 2 professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years required for consideration
Additional Information
- First-time travelers are not accepted for this position
- Previous permanent or PRN staff of the MUSC system must have been separated for at least 1 year before being eligible to work as a traveler
- Non-local candidates are prioritized; local candidates (within 60 miles of the facility) may be considered on a case-by-case basis
- All requested time off (RTO) must be disclosed at the time of submission; approval is based on department needs
- Completion of online modules is required prior to the assignment start date
- Travelers should be aware that during hurricane season (June–November), all staff may be assigned to emergency response teams; peak activity months are August and September
