Description

American Traveler is hiring a CT Technologist for a 13-week night shift contract at an acute care hospital near Boston, MA, requiring 2+ years of experience and hands-on proficiency with GE CT equipment.

Details

• Acute care hospital setting serving both inpatient and outpatient populations, including an outpatient center with urgent care
• CT department operates with one active floor; typical cases include head CTs and general outpatient studies, with critical patients transferred to the main campus
• Occasional CTA studies performed; no coronal CTA
• Ability to perform calcium scoring on GE equipment is a strong plus
• Equipment includes GE VCT and GE Evo/Evolution dual energy scanner, Med Rad injector, PACS, and Powerscribe
• EMR: MEDITECH
• Night shifts, 12 hours, 6:00 PM – 7:00 AM, Monday/Tuesday/Wednesday
• Local candidates are accepted; candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility are subject to a reduced bill rate

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of CT Technologist experience (3–5 years preferred)
• GE CT scanner experience is required — non-negotiable
• IV certification or demonstrated IV competency required
• Must be able to work independently, including periods of working alone
• ARRT (CT) and BLS certifications required
• Active MA Radiologic Technology license required if applicable
• Graduate of an AMA-approved educational program in Radiologic Technology
• Proficiency with PACS, MEDITECH, Med Rad injector, and Powerscribe

Additional Information

• Responsible for operating and performing QA on CT scanners, bringing up pressure injectors, PACS, and MEDITECH at the start of each shift
• Performs image manipulation including windowing, contrast adjustment, algorithm selection, exam separation by accession, and creation of reformatted images
• Communicates wet reading findings to physicians, the ED, and nursing units as needed; can access RadPortal and burn CDs for patients or the ER
• Completes all administrative components of each procedure including tech edits, patient escorting, and room preparation and cleaning
• Responsible for stocking rooms, requesting supply orders, and maintaining clean and functional work areas
• Reports equipment malfunctions to the Coordinator or designee
