Description

American Traveler is hiring a Pediatric Echo Technologist with a minimum of 4 years of experience, including at least 1 year of pediatric echo experience in a high-acuity setting.

Details

  • 226-bed non-profit community hospital with a NICU unit
  • Pediatric patient population ages 0–18 years, with adult echo support as needed
  • Patient types include CAD, hypertension, post-TAVR, TEE, and pediatric cases
  • Average of 4–6 scans per shift depending on schedule
  • Pediatric echo cases typically average 2–3 per week
  • Philips equipment used at the hospital; Canon ultrasound unit used in the outpatient clinic
  • Epic EMR preferred
  • Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM, 8-hour day shifts, 40 hours per week
  • No weekend rotation or on-call requirements
  • May float to the adult echo team during downtime and to an outpatient clinic located across the street from the hospital

Requirements

  • Minimum of 4 years of echo experience, with at least 1 year of pediatric echo experience in a high-acuity, fast-paced setting
  • Current BLS required
  • ARDMS (RDCS) or CCI (RCS) required; ARDMS (RDCS-PE) preferred
  • License required if applicable
  • Proficiency performing high-quality scans on a wide range of common echo patients
  • Experience with Canon ultrasound unit preferred
  • Epic EMR experience preferred
  • Strong clinical judgment, adaptability, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team

Additional Information

  • First-time travelers will be considered for this position
  • Perform high-quality echocardiographic imaging for pediatric patients and provide support to the adult echo team as needed
  • Role requires flexibility to float between the hospital and an offsite outpatient clinic
  • 1–2 holidays expected to be worked per contract
  • Any scrub color is acceptable
  • Two references from a supervisor or above (Charge Nurse, Manager, Director, or equivalent) are required prior to start
