Description

American Traveler is hiring a CV Invasive Specialist (Cath Lab / EP Technologist) with at least 2 years of invasive cardiovascular or electrophysiology experience and required RCIS, RCES, or ARRT certification.

Details

• Work in a Cardiovascular Lab (Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory) at an acute care facility
• Patient population includes those undergoing complex diagnostic and advanced interventional cardiovascular and electrophysiology procedures
• 4x10-hour day shifts per week
• On-call is required
• Charting performed in Epic

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of invasive cardiovascular technology or electrophysiology experience, not including academic or CVIS training
• Bachelor's degree in a health science program from an accredited institution; degree will be verified
• Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology, Cardiovascular Technology, Respiratory Therapy, or Nursing program
• One of the following certifications required: RCIS, RCES, ARRT-R, ARRT-CV, or ARRT-VI
• Current BLS (AHA) required; must not expire prior to start date
• Current ACLS or PALS (AHA) required; must not expire prior to start date
• Radiation badge required
• Passage of the CEPS exam required for EP candidates
• Demonstrated proficiency in all CVIS I job duties without supervision
• Competency in basic coronary intervention with completed skills pass-off
• Maintains at least 20 hours of CME credits per year
• Active license required, if applicable
• DOB and last 4 digits of SSN required for consideration

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include procedure room preparation, post-procedure turnaround, hemodynamic recordings, calculations, and interpretations
• Provides procedural assistance as a circulating tech, scrub tech, or monitoring tech per cath lab policies and scope of practice
• Assesses and documents patient condition, informing the physician of deviations from normal criteria throughout procedures
• Applies and demonstrates principles of x-ray generation and safety, and operates imaging equipment correctly
• May mix and administer medications under physician direction, perform point-of-care testing and QA, and apply closure devices or obtain hemostasis at procedure end
• Orients new CVIS I staff and serves as a defined preceptor, providing direct supervision, coaching, and mentoring
• Leads staff education through Skills Day Workshops and training on specialized equipment and procedural techniques
• Former permanent staff of any facility in this health system must be separated for at least one year before being eligible to apply for a travel assignment
