Description
American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Labor & Delivery position in Smyrna, TN, requiring at least 2 years of L&D experience and active fetal monitoring certification.
Details
- Night shift position, 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
- 13-week travel assignment
- Labor & Delivery unit within a main hospital building (Women's Services)
- Unit includes 9 L&D beds, 3 swing rooms, 2 ORs, and a 3-bed OBED
- Patient ratio of 1:2
- Unit is supported by a unit secretary and scrub tech, with a dedicated CRNA and midwife in-house 24/7, and an OB/GYN on call
- Documentation systems: CPN and Meditech
- 4 weekend shifts required per month
- Floating to mother/baby or outside the department for tasking may be required
- Procedures performed include: OR circulating, IUPC, FSE, MgSO4, postpartum hemorrhage management (JADA system), and nitrous oxide administration
Requirements
- Active TN or Compact RN license required
- Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NRP (Advanced 9th Edition, American Academy of Pediatrics), and Fetal Monitoring (intermediate or advanced AWHONN, or NCCEFM)
- Certifications must not expire within the first 30 days of the assignment start
- Minimum 2 years of recent L&D experience required
- US SSN and DOB required for consideration
- One professional reference required (two required for candidates from Florida or Missouri)
- No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months
Additional Information
- Unit operates on a laborist team model with 24/7 midwife coverage and dedicated CRNA and OB on call
- An 8-bed Level 2 NICU with a dedicated NNP is available 24/7, with NNP attendance at all high-risk deliveries
- Postpartum unit utilizes couplet care, keeping newborns at the bedside and supporting breastfeeding with donor milk availability
- Experience with Spinning Babies and STABLE is considered helpful
- Strong commitment to patient-centered care and supporting vaginal birth opportunities is expected
- Unit has been recognized as an HCA Unit of Distinction (2021) and is a TIPQC Pilot Hospital for NTSV and Team Birth
- Required scrub color: hot pink top with black or hot pink bottoms
- Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility — local candidates are not eligible
