Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Level IV NICU position requiring at least 2 years of NICU III/IV experience, Epic proficiency, and an active WI or compact RN license.

Details

• 26-bed NICU within a comprehensive pediatric medical and surgical center that is also a Magnet®-designated facility
• Level IV NICU caring for critically ill newborns and infants with complex medical and surgical needs, including post-op patients, g-tubes, trach/vent management, and various modes of invasive and non-invasive ventilation
• Patient- and family-centered care model from admission through discharge
• Evening/night shifts, 12 hours, 7:00 PM–7:30 AM
• Required to work 2–3 weekends per 6-week scheduling period
• Epic EMR used; experience required, preferably within the last 12 months
• Travelers are first to float and may be assigned to multiple units or locations within the organization based on staffing needs

Requirements

• Active WI RN license or compact RN license issued from permanent address state, currently in hand
• Current BLS certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) only
• NRP certification required
• Minimum 2 years of total NICU Level III/IV experience, with at least 1 full year in a Level IV NICU (Level III and Level IV experience may be combined to meet the 2-year total)
• Experience with post-op patients, g-tubes, trach/vent management, and invasive/non-invasive ventilation modes required
• Basic arrhythmia/telemetry experience required
• Permanent address must be at least 50 miles from the primary work site to be eligible for this position

Additional Information

• Provide advanced nursing care to critically ill newborns and infants with a wide range of medical and surgical complexities
• Must pass a telemetry test prior to being cleared to start
• Facility is home to a Level I Pediatric Trauma Center and Level IV NICU serving patients throughout Wisconsin and beyond
• Parking on-site requires a permit through UW Transportation; alternative options include bus, park & ride, and private parking
