Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a PICU position requiring a minimum of 18 months of pediatric experience and an active OH or compact RN license.

Details

• Night shift schedule: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM (3x12-hour shifts)
• Pediatric ICU (PICU) setting within a large hospital campus
• Patient population spans all ages up to 25 years, including epilepsy monitoring and specialized pediatric critical care
• Experience with EKGs and inotropes is required for this unit

Requirements

• Active OH RN license or compact state RN license currently in hand
• Current AHA or American Red Cross BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required
• EKG rhythm recognition experience required
• Experience with inotropes required
• NIHSS certification preferred
• Minimum 18 months of permanent (non-travel) experience in the specialty is required prior to any travel experience
• Minimum 18 months of recent Pediatric ICU experience required (travel experience accepted)
• Two professional references required for consideration
• Valid driver's license and Social Security card required for consideration

Additional Information

• Provide specialized critical care nursing to a pediatric population, including patients with epilepsy and complex conditions up to age 25
• ECG rhythm recognition and safeMedicate assessments are completed during orientation; acceptable scores on both are required to continue the assignment
• Must be available to work at least every other holiday
• After 18 consecutive months at any facility location, a minimum 6-month break is required before beginning another assignment at that same health system
