Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg travel position in Cedar Rapids, IA, requiring a minimum of 12 months of Med/Surg experience and proficiency in neurology and oncology patient care.

Details

• Hospital Med/Surg unit with 24 beds
• Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts, 36 hours/week
• Patient ratio on nights is 1:6
• Required to float between Med/Surg and Stepdown units
• Every other weekend required, including holiday rotation
• No on-call responsibilities
• EMR: Epic (experience preferred)

Requirements

• Active IA RN license or compact RN license required
• Current BLS certification (AHA or ARC)
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification highly preferred — can be obtained during onboarding
• Minimum 12 months of Med/Surg experience required
• First-time travelers welcome, but must have a minimum of 18 months of nursing experience in a hospital or medical center setting
• Experience administering heparin, cardizem, and amiodarone required
• Proficiency caring for neurology and oncology patients required
• Epic EMR experience preferred
• Driver's license required for consideration
• One supervisory performance evaluation or professional reference from within the past 24 months preferred

Additional Information

• Candidates who have been employed by UnityPoint Health (UPH) as an FTE or PRN within the past 12 months are not eligible for this position, regardless of which UPH facility they worked at
• Navy or black solid-colored scrub tops and bottoms required
• Holiday rotation is included in the every-other-weekend requirement
