Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Post Surgical Unit position requiring acute care surgical floor experience and Stepdown/PCU experience, with night shifts in an Oklahoma hospital setting.

Details

• Post Surgical Unit (4E) in an acute care hospital setting
• Patients are pre- and post-operative surgical cases, including ENT and transplant patients
• Care involves patients with new drains, wounds, trachs, ostomies, NGT, and DHT
• Patient ratios are 5:1 for surgical patients and 3:1 for Stepdown patients
• Some patients require Stepdown-level care
• Night shift, 12-hour days, 3 days per week (36 hours per week)
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Active OK RN license or a current multistate compact (eNLC) RN license required
• Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) required
• Minimum 1 year of RN experience required
• Acute care surgical floor experience required
• Stepdown/PCU experience required
• OR (operating room) candidates will not be considered
• Associate's Degree in Nursing (ADN) from an accredited program required; BSN preferred
• ENT and/or transplant experience preferred
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include managing assigned patient groups, documenting responses to nursing interventions, monitoring physiological data, administering medications, managing IV infusions and blood products, and coordinating care with physicians and support staff
• Candidates who have previously worked at this facility must have a 6-month separation period before being eligible to apply, as prior workers may only extend once for a total of 26 weeks
• Compliance with onboarding requirements (drug screen, background check, medical requirements) must be completed promptly after accepting an offer
• All AHA certifications must be current and issued by the American Heart Association only
• BSN from a board-approved program is preferred
