Description

American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Surgical/Transplant Stepdown unit, requiring at least one year of RN experience and prior Stepdown/PCU background.

Details

• Work in a hospital Surgical/Transplant unit (4W) that functions as a mixed stepdown and acute care floor
• Patient population includes post-surgical kidney, liver, and pancreas transplant recipients, as well as pre-transplant patients undergoing inpatient evaluation
• Close patient monitoring required for infection, rejection, and timely medication delivery
• Day shift, 8-hour shifts, 5 days per week (40 hours/week)
• This is not a PACU position

Requirements

• Active RN license issued by the Oklahoma State Board of Nursing, or a current multistate compact RN license (eNLC)
• Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) required; all certifications must be AHA-issued
• Minimum of 1 year of RN experience required
• Stepdown/PCU experience required
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Transplant experience preferred
• Associate's Degree in Nursing (ADN) from an accredited program required; BSN preferred
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position
• Full date of birth (DOB) and full Social Security Number (SSN) required for consideration

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include monitoring physiological data, administering medications, managing IV infusions and blood products, documenting patient responses, and coordinating care with physicians and support staff
• Involves patient and family education regarding care plans, hospital procedures, and discharge planning
• Travelers who have previously worked at this facility may only extend once for a maximum total of 26 weeks; a 6-month separation period is required before reapplying after reaching 26 weeks
• Compliance with onboarding requirements (drug screens, background checks, medical requirements) is strictly enforced and must be completed by the facility's set deadline — start dates will not be adjusted
