Description

American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Med Specialty Step Down position requiring at least one year of experience, Med/Surg and step-down background, and Level 1 trauma experience.

• Position is based in a hospital Med Specialty Step Down unit
• Day shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts per week (36 hours/week)
• Med/Surg and step-down experience required; ICU experience preferred
• Level 1 trauma facility experience required
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Active RN license issued by the Oklahoma State Board of Nursing, or a current multistate compact RN license (eNLC)
• Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association required
• Minimum of 1 year of RN experience required
• Med/Surg and step-down experience required
• Level 1 trauma experience required
• Travel nursing experience required
• ICU experience preferred
• Associate's Degree in Nursing (ADN) from an accredited program required; BSN preferred
• Full date of birth and full SSN required for consideration
• Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible — no local candidates

Additional Information

• Assumes responsibility for an assigned group of patients, including documentation of responses to nursing interventions and prescribed medical treatments
• Monitors and evaluates physiological data, administers medications, and manages IV infusions and blood products
• Assists physicians during patient examinations and minor diagnostic procedures
• Coordinates patient and family education regarding care plans, hospital procedures, and discharge planning
• Delegates tasks to support staff and makes referrals to appropriate personnel as needed
• Candidates who have previously worked at this facility must have a 6-month separation period after 26 total weeks before being eligible for another contract
• Compliance with onboarding requirements (background check, drug screen, medical requirements) must begin immediately upon offer acceptance — non-compliance may result in cancellation
