Description

American Traveler is hiring a travel Radiology Technologist (X-Ray) in Des Moines, IA with a minimum of 2 years of hospital-based X-Ray experience, including OR, portable, and fluoroscopy proficiency.

• Hospital-based radiology setting with floating required across multiple campuses, including Iowa Lutheran, Methodist West, and Iowa Methodist Medical Center
• Supports all areas of radiology including plain film imaging, operating room exams, and portable exams
• Equipment includes Siemens fixed general radiography units, Carestream portable units, GE OEC C-arms, and Medtronic O-arms
• EMR: Epic (experience required)
• Experience with all patient age groups required, as patient population is shift-dependent
• Monday–Friday afternoon shifts, 12:00 PM start time, 10-hour shifts at 40 hours/week
• Scheduling days may vary; no call and no weekends required
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Minimum of 24 months of X-Ray experience, preferably in a hospital or medical center setting
• Experience with Siemens fixed radiography equipment, Carestream portable units, GE OEC C-arms, and Medtronic O-arm required
• Operating room and surgery fluoroscopy experience required
• Epic EMR experience required
• Active ARRT certification required
• Active AHA or ARC BLS certification required
• Active IA radiology license highly preferred; candidates actively pursuing licensure will be considered with attestation of application at time of acceptance — license required if applicable
• Driver's license required for consideration
• Supervisory reference or performance evaluation from within the past 2 years preferred

Additional Information

• Candidate must be able to support all radiology service lines, with a strong emphasis on OR support using C-arms and O-arms
• Travelers who were previously employed by the health system as an FTE or PRN within the past 12 months are not eligible for this position, regardless of which facility they worked at
• Candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility may be subject to a reduced travel pay rate
• Travelers are expected to work 2 of the 3 winter holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, or New Year's)
• Time-off requests are limited to 1 day during the Thanksgiving holiday window and 1 day during the Christmas/New Year's window
