Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Flex Pool night shift position requiring at least 2 years of experience and Epic proficiency.

Details

• Hospital-based Medical Surgical unit (Flex Pool)
• Night shift schedule: 3x12s or 4x12s (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)
• Patient ratios of 1:6 under normal staffing; may flex to 1:7 in cases of unplanned absence
• Every other weekend required
• On-call (PRN low census) required
• Floating within scope to like units or sister facilities required
• Charting performed in Epic
• Free parking available on-site

Requirements

• Active SC RN license or Compact RN license must be in hand prior to start (candidates with a pending SC license may be considered, but must be active before reporting)
• Current BLS certification (AHA only) required
• ACLS and NIHSS certifications preferred (AHA only)
• Minimum 2 years of Med/Surg RN experience required
• Telemetry and MS/Tele experience required
• Insulin management and Rapid Response experience required
• Epic EMR experience required
• SSN and valid Driver's License required for consideration
• 2 professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years required for consideration

Additional Information

• First-time travelers are accepted for this position
• Previous permanent or PRN staff at any MUSC location must have been separated from the system for at least 1 year before being eligible to work as a traveler
• Candidates residing within 60 miles of the facility are not eligible for the travel rate; non-local candidates are prioritized
• All requested time off (RTO) must be submitted at the time of consideration and is subject to facility approval
• Orientation modules are completed pre-start (approximately 4 hours)
• Block scheduling requests may be submitted for approval prior to the assignment start but are not guaranteed
• Royal blue scrubs required
• Travelers should be aware that during hurricane season (June–November), all staff may be assigned to emergency response duties; peak activity months are August and September
